I love when people come to me and say “I work with everyone!” Woah, that sounds complicated. In reality, you’re not pizza. You can’t please everyone so let’s dive into why you need to narrow this down and how to quickly start working with your dream customers.
Narrowing down that dream customer helps you navigate so much of your marketing, you’re silly to skip this step.
You can determine messaging, services, advertising, operational questions and more.
The starting point is simpler than you think.
Who do you want to work with?
By now, you should know which pizza you enjoy eating and slices you don’t. Think about who are some of your favorite customers you’ve worked with? See, simple?
When you focus on the “Hell YEAH” customers, and not the “Oh No” customers you’re carving a path to simplifying your clients.
Be a problem solver
Once you know who that dream client is, the next task is to think about what have been the problems you’ve solved for dream customers? Think about what questions they asked or what do potential customers ask? Why did those clients come to you in the first place? How did they feel before working with you and after working with you?
Get a notebook and write down the answers to the questions above. Don’t skip writing down 6-12 topics they frequently asked.
Just ask!
We know when we build the perfect pizza, the end result is something amazing to eat and enjoy. What was the end results of the product or service your dream clients purchased from you. What was their life after working with you? If you don’t know that, send an email and ask. I always make a habit of when I’m finishing up with a client sending over a survey to get those answers.
Which of these steps are you crystal clear on when it comes to your dream clients?
