It’s said that variety is the spice of life. Do you get bored seeing the same graphics over and over from users on your social platforms like Instagram? Let’s talk about the ways to add variety to your social media feeds to drive engagement.
Adding variety to the content you post on social media is key to standing out and staying top of mind. I’m going to give you some quick tips to implement & improve your social media marketing.
CONTENT BUCKETS
What is a content bucket? This creates a consistency that your audience craves. These buckets should serve your dream clients and follow the 80/20 rule of content. Some social media gurus suggest at least one content bucket per day. That’s A LOT. I suggest starting with three content buckets that you universally post across multiple platforms.
For example: I always do a Tip Tuesday video, a graphic or carousel post with a quote Wednesday, an action step Reel or Photo, some hack or tip for a quick win on Thursday, and go live on Friday.
With creating these consistent content buckets, I’m always using content that’s already on my website and repurposing that onto social media. I’m showing up consistently, and I’m offering variety.
CONTENT VARIETY
When you put some sort of variety in your social media, you stand out more. Just as I mentioned above, this includes videos, graphic posts, Reels, etc. If you’re always posting photos of yourself, that may not resonate with your audience but when you add video (which gets higher engagement) along with graphics, photos, etc., you stick out in the crowd and become a priority for your audience.
BRANDING
The aesthetic of branding is just as important as the content. Incorporate your brand colors in your photos, in your graphics, and use the same fonts throughout your content. When you do Reels on Instagram or for Facebook Stories, be consistent with the fonts and color that you use. When I began using consistent colors, people began to recognize me as it stops the scroll and starts bringing in the comments and engagement. By doing this, your raving fans will start buying and sending your items that are on brand.
Action steps. Outline 3 consistent content buckets you can put into play each week to become consistent with content your community will stop the scroll for.
